CMS regulatory changes are coming and require careful time and attention to many our practices, protocols and systems to insure regulatory compliance. Boot camp will provide careful review of dining and clinical documentation to insure all standard operating procedures, protocols and practices are survey ready in 4-weeks.

  • F656: Develop/Implement Comprehensive Care Plan
  • F686: Treatment and services to prevent and heal PU
  • F692: Nutrition/hydration status Maintenance
  • F693: Tube Feeding Management/Restore Eating skills
  • F698: Dialysis (nutrition related sections)

Week Two: Key Dining System

  • Emergency preparedness including menu, policies, supplies to have on hand
  • Food from outside sources; including policies and tips for monitoring
  • Comprehensive Infection Control in the Dining Operations review and checklist to insure all operations have sound infection control standard operating procedures
  • Policies to review and update for compliance including, gardens, buffets, and food handling practices

Week Three: QAPI

  • The 5 Elements of QAPI
  • Auditing, Monitoring and Surveillance
  • Food and Nutrition PIP project-Samples

Week Four: Review of Food Sanitation Regulations

  • F800: Diet meet needs/Staff
  • F802: Sufficient Staff
  • F803-814: Nutritive value, alternatives, frequency
